TEXAS PREMIERE

A young northern Italian, Emilio, enlists in the state police and is posted to the island of Sardinia, where he encounters a seemingly primitive society with unusual customs. While Emilio's work is initially routine things change when a murder occurs and is handled according to local tradition.

Piero Sanna worked closely for several years with Italian director Ermanno Olmi. For his first feature, Piero returned to his hometown of Benetutti and presents a unique look at his native land Sardinia and the lives of carabinieri (police officers), a role he served for many years in Milan.
