TEXAS PREMIERE

Using filmed interviews with his father, family pictures, and never-before-seen super-8 home movies, Christopher Buchholz and Sandra Hacker give a personal, tragic, and comedic look at the inner life of a family that revolved around international movie star Horst Buchholz. The result was a game of cat and mouse between a father slowly giving up on life and a son who refuses to accept that.

Horst Buchholz . . . My Papa just won the 2006 Golden Plaque for best documentary biography at the Chicago Hugo Awards and won the Willelm Dieterle Film Prize for best German documentary of 2005.

Christopher grew up in Paris and studied art and film at UCLA. He acts and directs on stage and screen. His previous work includes the short films Amours de Russie, Happy Birthday, and Le Jardin des Mauvais Garçons .

Sandra Hacker attended the Baden-Württemberg Film Academy where she majored in documentary films. She received the Nipkow Fellowship for Eoropean film and media professionals. She has been a screenwriter, director, and film editor since 1998. 		Christopher Buchholz, Sandra Hacker
