Accompanied by two old seadogs, Kid, a fifteen-year-old orphaned boy, takes to the sea, following a treasure map he has obtained. But things don't always happen the way they do in pirate stories. In the search for his identity, Kid is more fragile than he appears, and many adventures are in store for him before he can reach the Island of Black Mor.

In 1963, Jean-François Laguionie, discovered animation when introduced to legendary French animator, Paul Grimault. Since 1965, Jean-François Laguionie has produced some of the most exquisitely rendered animation in all of Europe.
