The Dog, The General & The Birds (Le Chien, Le General & Le Oiseaux) - 35mm - French Section - Children's animation - A Russian general sacrificed the birds to burn Moscow and save his country from Napoleon. The general, a national hero lives retired in St.Petersburg, where he is attacked every day by the birds there. By chance, he crosses paths with an extraordinary dog, and the two of them proceed to wage a delicate battle. This special two-part seminar is being presented by Eastman Kodak featuring a special Kodak Research/Development Cinematographer Christopher C. Pearson (Director of Photography) born and raised in Cape Cod, Massachusetts, headed to Los Angeles at the ripe age of 18 to pursue a career in Cinematography. After internships at the American Society of Cinematographers and Panavision, Christopher studied at LACC and immediately thereafter, began working as an Assistant in the Camera Department on feature Films. His First Assistant Camera resume consists of over 50 films, over a dozen Music Videos and Commercials having pulled focus for renowned Cinematographers such as Bernd Heinl (JONNY SKIDMARKS, BAGDAD CAFE’), Bruce Douglas Johnson (HAPPY TEXAS, DROWNING MONA, SIX FEET UNDER, GILMORE GIRLS) and Tony Kaye (AMERICAN HISTORY X).

Producing & Directing the Independent Feature Film: 1pm to 4pm.
This annual Indie seminar brings together a diverse panel of Independent film producers, producer/directors, and those involved in getting a film or television production past the script and onto the screen. An important panel seminar with an extensive Q&A session that probes into all the facets of producing and directing an independent feature film. A synergistic blend ranging from seasoned veterans of guerrilla styled Indie filmmaking to the proverbial new kids on the block, who all bring to the table an amazing array of perspectives, passion, insights, and creative juice to share their unique experiences from the front lines of Indie filmmaking.

 

 

 

NASA & The Houston Yacht Club /
WorldFest Regatta

The WorldFest~Houston Yacht Club Regatta is on Sunday the 30th of April 2006. The coaches will leave The Renaissance Hotel promptly at 10am Sunday morning! Private cars can follow the bus to Space Center Houston for the VIP tour of NASA and Space Center Houston. We will leave NASA at 12:30pm for the Houston Yacht Club. All WorldFest guests will be assigned a yacht & crew (attire: white-soled boat or tennis shoes only please, no black soled jogging shoes. Landlubbers and non-sailors can be assigned to big motor yachts that will follow the sailboat race. Bring a windbreaker or sweater) for the 3-hour Olympic triangle "fun race" which will be over at approx. 3:30pm. The boats will then return to the HYC for the Texas BBQ and live mariachi music. The buses will return at 6pm, going to the AMC Studio 30 Dunvale festival theater first, in time for the 7:15pm closing film, then on to The WorldFest HQ Renaissance Hotel. You can easily make a 9pm flight or earlier if you are packed with your own car.
